<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="FONT-FAMILY: Pegasus">The ship herself is large and saucer-like with 20 levels.<span>&nbsp; </span>There are more than 30,000 beings of varying species who call Starship 9 home.<span>&nbsp; </span>Most have lived on the ship for generations and their fellow shipmates are more like family than their biological counterparts.<span>&nbsp; </span>The majority of the ship's personnel are scientists of varying types with an emphasis on anthropologists, historians, sociologists and engineers.<span>&nbsp; </span>Children apprentice themselves to a group or individual area of study at about age 10. <span>&nbsp;</span>They then learn everything there is to know about that area.<span>&nbsp; </span>For instance, if a child has chosen history, they may read hundreds or thousands of books and then discuss these with their mentor.<span>&nbsp; </span>History is considered to be a critical study because it is important for the members of Starship 9 to understand the reasons a given species has chosen the path they have.<?xml:namespace prefix = o /><o:p></o:p>&nbsp; .&nbsp; .<br/></span></p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: Pegasus"><br/></span>]]></description>
