Oh Mani...

Oh Mani…
Maybe in one’s life,
One stops along the way,
And stops to pick up a stone…
Why this stone?
Where does it go now?
Did it speak to me and nudged me
To gather it up and become part of my life…?
Many friends have many stones
Gathered through a life time…
In piles in the corner of the yard,
On silk on their altar…
Stones from the beach,
A summit stone from the Sierra Mountains…
A lone stone from the desert…
All came from somewhere else…
To sit among them now
May they speak not in words?
Just of their vibration is enough
To share this moment….
The “Mani stone” is sacred in Tibet.
Hand carved “Om Mani Peme Hung”
Into stones creates a voice for the stone to bless
And purify the wind of darkness…
The stone carvers and stone share the creation
And an inter-species communication that is a vibration
Left flowing upon the stone…
Not unlike stories handed down by generations
By shamans and grandmothers alike…
Today, one may buy a Mani stone,
In duality….
One stone is made of stone dust and concrete cast of a Clay model.
The other is hand carved in a backyard…
They do not weigh or cost the same.
So what…
It is that their vibrations are most different.
A cast is just but a shadow….
Hand carved is eternal vibe.
Like our lives today, are we but a cast of the past
Or alive to thrive a fresh carved present
For all….?
