Good Enough?

"If you think you can or if you think you can't, either way you are correct.
The only limits you have are those you choose"
Lee Gibson

Every choice you make is a battle within, that may crop up as questions. “Is it the right choice?” And if you make the choice, “is it good enough?”

Self-talk to make the right choice may result because of a doubt. Indecisiveness, second-guessing, validation from someone, appearance, or making a choice is a risk. Are you good enough when the choice is made? The choice becomes difficult or a struggle.

Here is a prac-tice you can do. Get a journal and write down the answer to the following. Be specific. No story telling, jot down only what you would do for yourself. What do you do?

(1)When you first wake up from a night’s sleep?
(2)When you prepare for bed?
(3)When you go to work? What route do you take to and from work?
(4)When you get home from work?

Go through your list. Circle what is similar for each day. The similarities are the practices you have developed over the years. What would happen if you did not do them the same way every day? Would you feel uncomfortable? Would you need to do it a couple more times to be use it?

Unfamiliarity or being uncomfortable is doubt because you do not have full control. It is a practice different from doing the ‘right’ thing or being acceptable to another person. It may not “fit” into looking right or it may be a risk.

Suggestion: prac-tice doing something different by picking one of the words you circled. Try it for three consecutive days. You can do it again for another three days or pick another one to practice.
