Sometimes it can assist us to step back every once in a while and take in the big picture.  By revisiting a wider perspective of it all, it can help us reconnect with the things that might be still holding onto us that we might want to have let go.  For really, the “it” is not holding onto us, but it is “us” that won’t let “it” go.  In this month’s article, I am going to suggest a journey you may not want to take. It is a journey about a final clearing that will be necessary for all of us to take in order to fully create the new lives and businesses we desire to have.

The Last of the Victims

This world is on a continued path toward renewal. As we have seen, corporations are reeling as they attempt to adapt to the shifting energies. Clearly companies are not the only institutions of human collectives being affected but they are the focus of my words here.

It is perhaps helpful to recap why companies seem to be struggling so much. The shift is about things coming into balance, flowing into more equilibrium and equanimity.  In the world of commerce, these things have been out of balance and more increasingly so over the past 100 years or so. This is because over that time frame very influential corporate individuals came to understand and almost perfect their business models in terms of increasing their profit margins, (which as we know, is the main purpose of business).

If we step back a bit and place ourselves in the position of being such a business leader, we would begin to look at economies of scale as the leverage required in order to make the most profits.  That is, to reach or involve very large markets in your offers.  Taking your product global would be the best case for increasing profits.

Here is where I want to divert your attention to some of the vivid realities of where the one-sided focus of these endeavors have perhaps led us.  There is a film on the Internet that has been around over a year or so that is called Zeitgeist (http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com) which rather chronologically and vividly characterizes the rise of the power wielded by individuals behind some mega-corporations.

While the film may not be 100% factual, it certainly is 100% accurate in how it portrays the underlying pattern of what “needs to be done to maximize profitability” on a global scale.  That is, if you are running a corporation, it is best not just to offer a product for sale globally and allow yourself to be at the risky variations in a free market, but to reduce your risk by perhaps directly manipulating the causes that would lead to the higher demand for your product. (The film starts out by laying the foundation for “fact-manipulation” on a large scale as far back as 2000 years ago, not in the area of business, but in formal religions – which, it may be argued, had similar goals).

I remember learning about 15 years ago about President Nixon’s meeting with the Chinese in the early 70’s (to broker the first international trade agreement with them), and discovery that it was not all it seemed.   By 1990, it was considered as one of those events that had led the world in a positive direction of multi-culturalism.  What most folks did not know at the time was that the origins of the reason for the historic meeting began when a corporate individual in the agri-business advised Nixon that this was a “business opportunity” that only comes around once-in-a-lifetime.  The advice was what changed the President’s mind and had him champion the cause against prevailing opinion.

The point is this: business and corporations have been centrally involved in the creation of almost all aspects of our world.  While we kind of accept this intellectually as an historic “state of affairs”, the Zeitgeist film weaves together a tale that can create an emotionally charged response to this history.  It is that response I want to speak about for it is central to our freeing up and clearing out, and our clarity around re-creating the future of business.

I would encourage you to watch the movie just as a way of measuring your own reactions to the tale it tells, even if you think you know all about the topics depicted.  Even if it is pure fiction, it may still illicit a strong response of anger and disgust that such individuals could consciously engage in such practices.  That response is due to one overriding reaction: that of being a victim of it all.

Because if you have a response to it, then you carry victim energy.  Now you are thinking, “But how could I have done anything to stop that stuff, of course I am a victim of it”. And my response is: perhaps you could not have THEN…but certainly knowing what you know now, you can choose other realities, for yourself and collectively as a result.

You see, it is my request that you give up feeling and playing the role of the victim.  And to do that you would need to be at peace with the version of reality espoused in the movie.  One of the hardest things I had to do on my path was come to terms with the fact that the types of business persons portrayed in the film (as having manipulated markets - and lives), is part and parcel of my own history as a human.  Energetically, you can’t have an “up” without a “down”, you can’t have a manipulator without a “manipulatee” (one that has given up their power to the manipulator).  Accept that as a fact of allowing things to occur and you can begin to appreciate your own role in how such histories unfold.

Make this movie a journey into your own version of being “The Last of The Victims” to root our any last vestige of fear and hate.  You and I would not be here today, striving to enter into a state of consciousness that no longer tolerates such things, had these very things not have occurred for us to fully become conscious of them.  Deeply honor the energy of these types of human behaviors.

This also reminds me of the universal laws of energy.  If you throw a pebble in a pond, the ripples will expand in ever larger and larger circles as the displaced energy moves out from the originating point.  One could say that the ripples are increasing in volume and effect.  Have you ever tried to manipulate something to your own advantage?  If so, you are indeed very responsible for co-creating these energies on the earth.  There is no “categorization” of such energy, if it is created it grows.  And when it grows, others tap into it as they will.  You assisted in that co-creation by laying the foundation for them to tap into.

The Hail Mary Pass

Which gets me to my next (very much related) topic.  A “new” family member commented to me that, in many respects, the Shift is all about humanities collective “Hail Mary Pass”.  We know the only time to take the risk of a hail mary pass (in American football) is when the clock is running out and there are no plays left as options.  It is the last hope situation. You’re probably going to “lose” the game anyway, so why not go for the long shot?  It is so much more satisfying if the pass is caught and the touchdown achieved!

Concerning corporations, the clarity we now have regarding behaviors let loose and having gathered generations of historical “snowball-down-the-mountain” steam, means we are now quite ready to choose an alternative.  And being wired in our humanity to love the idea of a Hail Mary, we have collectively allowed ourselves to be directly in the path of the avalanche.

Of course the greater the drama, the greater the pressure, then the greater the potential for a more powerful shift toward balance.  And that is exactly where we are.

Collectively we can co-create the ripples of “correct behavior” to support evolving corporations that not only aspire toward abundance, but abundance and prosperity for all.  A true “team” approach as it were.  And today there are, as yet, still only a handful of global businesses that embrace this version of capitalism.  But the energy of the moment will intercede to assist us all, our collective consciousness, to really, really desire a different approach than what the past has (so far), mostly created.

Again, as always, I would say focus not on the fear and the perception of loss and collapse, for these is natural results of the avalanche we collectively created.  Instead, see the opportunity in these energies and consciously continue to place your hopes, beliefs, intentions, and actions into the “Hail Mary” of it all.  Don’t give your energy to anything, and I mean anything: news, gossip, thoughts, behaviors that are reacting to fear.  Anger, resentment, rage, disgust: these are all subsets of fear.  Bless these events, breath freely and consciously the energies of peace and potential.  In placing your individual sovereignty upon those energies, you WILL be co-creating the new as certainly as if you were at the helm of a very large business.

Be well.  Be in Light Work.
