The new grounding - part 4: Some practical tools
Now that our consciousness is opening more widely and we start to connect with other parts of ourselves, we have to redefine the meaning of grounding and the way it works.
In this article I will give you some basic tools and information with which you can start grounding. It will lead you to be more present in your physical body, to not identify with your emotions. This way you are able to carry more of your light. This is for many people a first necessary step which ultimately will lead you to the new grounding, which will become a common tool in the fifth dimension.
In this article you can also find a link to a grounding exercise on my website. Free download!
The new grounding - part 4
Some practical tools

Now that our consciousness is opening more widely and we start to connect with other parts of ourselves, we have to redefine the meaning of grounding and the way it works.
In this article I will give you some basic tools and information with which you can start grounding. It will lead you to be more present in your physical body, to not identify with your emotions. This way you are able to carry more of your light. This is for many people a first necessary step which ultimately will lead you to the new grounding, which will become a common tool in the fifth dimension.

Many people have difficulty being grounded. Simply visualizing roots into the earth is not working any more. You also need to be present with your life-force energy in your physical body. Emotions can undermine this process as I have described in my previous article. Being attached to your emotions (negative or positive) makes it hard for you to be present in your body and therefore being grounded.
All activities that involve connecting with your physical body and/or the earth help in being more grounded.
Sport is one way of letting your body actively work. This forces you to bring your life-force energy into your body. Otherwise you can’t move a foot, a leg, or an arm. If you want to kick a ball and want it to go in a certain direction, your energy needs to be in your leg and foot, all the way down up to your toes. Or, in the of throwing the ball in a certain direction, your energy needs to be in your arm, all the way up into your hand and fingers. If not, the ball will probably end up going a complete different direction than you wanted it to go.
Connecting with your body while playing sport makes grounding more easy. Feeling which muscles you move, what bodily parts are moving, what parts feel warm, cold, tired. You have to be present in your body, so you can be aware of your physical sensations. Be aware of every sensation in every part of your body.
Do sports always lead to more grounding? No, not necessarily. As a child I had to swim 20 tracks up and down the swimming pool. When I had swum 10 tracks I felt no connection with my body anymore. Energetically I had left my body for a great part. I couldn’t feel very much. My body knew what to do to keep me swimming, but otherwise I didn’t feel a thing in my body. As a child I felt this experience very comforting . Because I could finish swimming all the tracks easily. I could have swum 50 tracks! I didn’t feel a thing. Not a very healthy thing, because I couldn’t feel my body giving me signals it was getting tired, to stop swimming. Very dangerous. I could have forced myself into a position where I pushed my body to the limit. In my case most times afterwards I had a terrible myalgia for days!
Sometimes during sports people may experience a broadening of consciousness. This is what is called ‘a flow’. In such cases people are grounded, as in connected with their body and into the ground, but they also sense being part of a bigger field. You may have heard of marathon runners experiencing a ‘runners high’, meaning a flow like this. But you may also experience ‘being in the zone’ as a team while for example playing hockey. You are grounded and the whole team acts as being one body, one field.
So sport can help you to be grounded, but you have to watch to truly be connected with your body. Otherwise you may find yourself being less grounded than before, like some joggers who can run for miles, not feeling anything in their body at all.
Eating can help you to be grounded. It forces your life-force energy to be present in the trunk of your body. When I give a course I am very active both with my spiritual and mental energy. Therefore I need to pay special attention to grounding. Eating helps me a lot. I usually eat 1,5 portion of what I normally eat. I won’t gain weight. Not even an ounce. I immediately use it for grounding! But if you feel unsafe it won’t work this way, because the unsafeness will make it hard for you to connect with your body. In this case you will gain weight. Remember, it is not possible to ground when you don’t feel safe. Emotions play a big role in this. Read more about this in my previous article ‘The new grounding part 3 – Emotions’.
Pointing your energy into the ground also will help with grounding. Like in jumping and letting yourself fall down with your full weight, as in stamping. Once again you need to be present in your body if you want yourself to ground this way. A fun exercise can be to do some primitive dancing in which you stamp heavily with your feet on the ground. Feel every part of your body move, be aware of all your bodily sensations and be aware every time your feet touch the ground.
Gardening, like being present in your body, also helps you to ground by physically touching the plants and the earth. Letting go of all your troubled thoughts and simply paying full attention to your bodily sensations while you feel the earth between your fingers.
Again: you need to be present in your physical body to do this. It won’t work when you drift off with your mind and start dreaming. This of course can be fun, but it won’t help you to be grounded.
Getting a massage also can help you ground. To feel where your body is touched, to be aware of your physical sensations, where you feel your muscles relax, getting warm, tickle etc. Falling asleep has the opposite effect.
Nature enables us to ground. Animals usually don’t react if your not grounded. So they can give you a strong clue about yourself whether you’re grounded or not. I know this person who told me his dog started barking every time he was not grounded.
Being in nature harmonizes our energy field, clears our minds, helps us to let go of our emotions and therefore makes grounding easier. Go stand near a tree, embrace it or stand against it with your back touching the tree, and let the energy of the tree help you to ground. You will start being more present and connected with the ground, just like the tree is.
When you start to loosen up your connection with your emotions, by not clinging on to them anymore, your consciousness will rise and open more widely. Your view will broaden and your heart feelings will become noticeable.
Most people are able to feel emotions but also sense and connect with different kind of feelings, which I will call heart feelings .
Emotions are part of our human nature. Our ego loves to play the game of drama, and most times chooses to live in duality. Emotions always are either positive or negative, because they are created out of duality. Energetically they center in the solar plexus.
Heart feelings emanate from the heart chakra. Here we connect with unconditional love, the connection with being spirit. In our heart energy we sense the feeling of being one, feeling connected in oneness. Heart feelings therefore are neutral. Examples of heart feelings are: unconditional love, compassion, inner peace, inner silence, feelings of oneness.
Theoretically you may understand there’s the possibility to choose to play the game of drama, living in duality and let emotions take you over. Or to live in triality, by choosing to connect to a third position, your higher self. But how do you make this work?
As mentioned before: if you have some serious physical or psychological trauma which makes it not possible for you to feel safe in your body you should start working on that. If you can’t handle it yourself, get some professional help. There are many professionals, choose one who resonates not only with your mind but also with your heart.
If you want to train yourself in placing yourself in the third position you may start practicing Mindfulness. In a mindfulness course you will learn to focus and point your attention to what you yourself want to pay attention to. You will learn to be in the Now-moment, not in the past or the future. You will stop defining and identifying yourself as being your emotions, thoughts or physical sensations. You will learn to be non-judgmental. You will be able to stop seeing yourself as a helpless victim of your thoughts, emotions or physical sensations. Mindfulness helps you to open your heart and accept everything that takes place in your life. It teaches you to place yourself in the position of the observing self. In more spiritual words: you learn to not identify with duality and place yourself in triality. In mental healthcare you won’t hear about the connection with your heart and spirit, but it’s an undeniable part of living mindfully.
To let duality go, to let emotions go, you have to open your heart by accepting yourself being the person you are. Start with accepting yourself being the human who sometimes is a pain in the ass or makes life hell for yourself or your fellow humans. Forgive yourself for whatever you have done or have not done. Your words, your thoughts, your deeds, your looks. Everything you are. Forgive yourself. Accept yourself.
Opening your heart will let your true heart feelings flow through you. Your unconditional love, your compassion, your inner peace… It will start the process of being one again: human being, spirit and divine being. Feel it happen while reading these words. Don’t let yourself be distracted by whatever accusing or doubting thoughts that may run through you. Just let them be and open your heart. Let the love flow through you. Just accepting yourself 1 percent more than before is a great change.
You can do this every day. Start with doing the grounding exercise you find above. Look yourself in the eyes, or take a look at a recent picture of yourself, or one of you being a child. Then open your heart. Speak out your name and say with intent, the words: “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I thank you. I love you.” Or: “I’m sorry. I forgive myself. I thank myself. I love myself.” These words or similar are used in ho'oponpono,an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. The more you accept yourself, the more your light is able to flow through you. It will open up spirit in yourself. Spirit never left you. It has always been an integral part of who you are. By keeping it’s mouth shut, it let you play the game of pretending to be only human. This was your own free choice which spirit accepted. But times are changing. Games are changing. So open your heart, accept yourself having played this game pretending to be human and forgetting you are spirit. Doing this, spirit will immediately flow through you. Because there is no segregation. You are spirit. You are the light. You only played the game of pretending to forget. You played the game very well. Identifying yourself with duality. Good and bad, right and wrong. The time has started to be who you truly are: a divine human being. So let your light flow through you. Through every cell of your being.
Start by grounding yourself, being present in your physical, being aware of it, and connecting into the ground. Accept yourself every day a little bit more. Open your heart everyday a little bit more. Let in your energy, your light, everyday a little bit more. Raising your energy, raising your conscious.
Accept yourself. Be the light you are.
Grounding exercise- Free download
On my website you can find a grounding exercise, a guided meditation, in which you first will connect with every cell of your body, so you are present again and you are aware of all bodily sensations, then you will connect into the ground. This way you can practice bringing in your light into your body, more and more. You can download this exercise in English language and in the Dutch language.
My next articles will be about grounding in the fifth dimension. Your light is an essential part of this. So it may be of help to do some of the exercises. Be present in your body. Feel every part of your body. Connect to the earth. Accept yourself. Open your heart. Be the light you are.
