This month, Susan writes about "priorities" and how the universe and spirit often have plans for us other than those that we have conceived and put on our "to do" list.

Wolfgang follows up that point by sharing an example of how the universe provides easily and effortlessly.

Enjoy!

Priorities

Wolfgang and I were having dinner with a friend last night who we hadn’t seen for almost a year.  We were catching up on our year, and for all of us – we realized that we had each accomplished a lot in the past year, but none of us had actually gotten to any of the projects that we had planned to work on.  It’s just been one of those years.

Wolfgang has been busier this year than anytime in the past ten years, and I’ve been right there beside him.  We often wake up in the morning with an idea of what we want to accomplish that day, and then the phone rings and at least one of us finds ourselves going in a totally different direction than planned.  At one time in my life, this would have been very frustrating to me.  But, I’ve learned that flexibility is becoming more and more important in my life.

When I used to work for a corporation, I would have more things on my “to do” list than it was possible to accomplish.  Each day, I would prioritize the list, and there were always items that fell to the bottom of the list.  Yes, someone wanted that task done, but they didn’t want it as much as they wanted other things.  I’m guessing that at least a third of the things I was asked to do would eventually fall off of the list entirely.  That’s kind of how life goes, doesn’t it?

If something is highly important to me, it gets done – but not always when I think it will get done.  Some projects float around in my head for years.  I start to work on them, and nothing comes together.  Then suddenly, the time is right and the project falls together with almost no effort at all.  Other projects are never “critical”, and they either get done, or they don’t.

This past year, I have been living in a flow that brings projects my way, I complete them, and then the next thing shows up, and the next thing.  It has all come together very nicely, and so I don’t really worry about the “to do” list that I started the year with.  If any of those projects are supposed to be completed, then time and creativity, and whatever else I require will show up and everything will flow.

Yes, when it comes to business, there are things that need to be completed by certain deadlines – and I make sure that those are taken care of.  But, as long as I can stay in integrity, I’m happy to ‘go with the flow’ on everything else and see where life takes me.  It’s a balance thing.

So, if this has been one of those years where nothing on your list has gotten done – look around at what you HAVE accomplished.  I’m betting that the universe had different plans for you than you had for yoursef, and that the projects you completed were the priorities that you didn’t know about when you created your list.

So, I wonder what priorites will present this month?

Namaste!

The Universe Provides

About 20 years ago, I purchased a 12-foot long trailer.  It comes in handy quite often to transport all kinds of things, and it only costs $15 a year to license.

Lately, I have transported a number of things that are longer than 12 feet and some as long as 20 feet.  So, in my heart I felt it would be nice to have a longer trailer, ideally a 20-foot long one.

This week, my friend Cathy called and told me about an estate sale.  Excited, I went looking for bargains to be had.  To my delight, I found a 20-foot long trailer in good condition sitting in the back corner of the property.  The seller and I were able to agree on a price and I took my “new” trailer home.

This sort of thing happens quite often to me.  All it takes is to tell the universe what it is I am looking for, and then be patient and alert to see when it presents.

Life is good.

Lots of love,
Wolfgang
