Featured on the Virtual Light Broadcast in 2009 and 2010 and a co-creator of the 10-10-10 Event, "The Next Convergence - Spirit into Human" with Steve Rother, Jim is often introduced as a teacher’s teacher and a healer’s healer. He has been leading seminars and teaching healing, clairvoyance and higher dimensional energy management tools throughout North America since 1980. As an author of Spirit Matters: Down-to-Earth Tools for a Spirited Life, Jim's Spectrum column includes excerpts from this book, his free tele-classes, seminars and his second upcoming book.

Since childhood, Jim has had a conscious awareness and ability to remember his experiences within the sleep state. Over the last ten years, this awareness has expanded into relationships with the Archangels, Ascended Masters and Teachers of Light. The tools and information presented in the Mastering Alchemy programs are co-creations of these relationships.

Jim walks with a foot in both worlds. At the age of twenty-six, he was elected to his first of two terms to the San Jose, CA City Council and later became the Vice Mayor. Before completing his second term, he was asked by President Jimmy Carter to be the Director of Governmental Operations for the Dept. of Energy. As an entrepreneur, he has successfully built and sold two corporations, and is the founder and current Board Chairman of a third.

Your boss or significant other is in a rotten mood and the rest of the office or household feels the effect. The word gets out and everyone steps to the side to avoid them. Or perhaps you are in a crowd and become uncomfortable with the closeness. There might not be any strong emotion or energy being directed at you specifically, but you feel a bit too close for comfort. What’s happening?  Your boundary or energy field is being influenced or pushed against. It might be a very slight, accidental intrusion, but you notice it. An adjunct to the energy tool, The Rose, is what we call the Octahedron.

One weekend, Mitch drove down to San Francisco to visit a friend. They had several things planned, including a walk in Golden Gate Park, lunch and shopping in China Town. Now, Mitch lives in a small town about 150 miles north of “The City” and crowds are not something he finds himself in very often. The walk in Golden Gate Park was great, lunch was delicious, but shopping in China Town became a challenge in space management. Mitch found himself getting impatient and desiring to stop the excursion. He quickly became over-stimulated and wanted OUT. His politeness and desire to spend this time with his friend, however, assisted him in realizing that he was the one feeling uncomfortable, not the crowds around him, nor his friend. Since he knew he was the master of his moods and feelings, Mitch decided to feel good, rather than lousy and irritable. He remembered his Octahedron. Seconds after he erected this pretend structure, Mitch calmed down and stopped resisting the jostling about. His mood shifted and he began having fun again. Soon people actually stopped bumping into him. It was as though a feel-good force field had been created and he was able to enjoy the remaining time with his friend.

Energy Tool— The Octahedron
The Octahedron disrupts the flow of noise from 360 degrees around you. It establishes a type of  impenetrable force field that keeps you feeling good and unaffected by the crowds, the noise or the rippling waves of energy.

1. You may employ this tool with your eyes open or closed. It will work either way. A key here is neutrality. The more neutral you can become, the greater the effect.

2. Visualize a marker at the edge of your personal energy field (18-24 inches), out in front of you at 12 o’clock. This marker may be a dot, flower, flag or whatever neutral symbol you wish to use. I suggest you designate one symbol or image and use it consistently for the purpose of this tool. Doing so adds power to the tool. Because the energy field of success surrounds roses, I use that image.

3. Place another, identical marker behind you at 6 o’clock, on the edge of your energy field. Hold your attention on, or be aware of both points simultaneously for a few moments.

4. Place an identical marker to your right, at 3 o’clock and another out to your left at 9 o’clock. Hold your awareness on both points.

5. Very intentionally, notice all four points.

6. Place another identical marker above your head at the edge of your field and another about 24 inches below your feet. Hold your attention on these two points for a few moments.

7. Very intentionally, slowly and deliberately check in with or say “Hello” to each of these six points. See if you can be aware of all six simultaneously.

8. Now connect the points with lines. Draw four lines down from the point above you to the four points surrounding you and draw four lines up from the point below you to those four points surrounding you. You have created the Octahedron, one of five sacred geometric shapes called Platonic Solids.

I enjoy visiting hot springs. A few autumns ago I went to Sierra Hot Springs in Sierraville, CA. I needed quiet time alone to reflect and retreat. One dusk, as I was meditating in one of the pools, a very enthusiastic and boisterous group of friends entered. They were enjoying the waters in a way quite different than I was enjoying them. The happy bunch began playing with each other, laughing, splashing and talking, moving about quickly and creating great waves that rocked my relaxed body to and fro. My   quiet, neutral mood continued however, and I decided to take this opportunity for a little experiment. Not moving from my position, or even opening my eyes, I erected my Octahedron. I soon found a distance of approximately three feet around me to be undisturbed by the waves and rippling water. I smiled inside and out, settled back into my space and appreciated the friendly chatter from an attitude of gratitude and appreciation.

A few moments later, I decided to play again. I further experimented by extending the field out further and discovered that the further I extended my Octahedron, the quieter the pool became. When I finally opened my eyes some ten minutes after I began the experiment, I found myself to be entirely alone in the pool again.  The group of friends had left and moved on to another location.
