Experiencing Life Differently

The following story opened up some thoughts about how many of us feel as if life was nothing more than nothing.  It is easily measured by how each of you embraces one’s life.  Your life is not dependent upon how others expect you to be.  Unfortunately, many of you feel that there is nothing more you can do.

The holidays have passed.  The exchanges of presents for those you love were given.  Presents are physical manifestations of various things bought to aid in the joy of life.

It is definitely wonderful to accept something that is presented to you.  Presents are perfect and imperfect in a variety of shapes and sizes.  They give multitudes of pleasure and gratitude.

But the most valuable present, most precious treasure and the greatest of all joy is the gift of you!

Acceptance is hard to practice, because there is a thought process of accumulated stories connected to our beliefs. There are many beliefs about being a woman and the many expectations to uphold cultural and socio-ethnic appearances. It is the expectation of the woman's role as a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a professional, etc.

In the midst of everything that is happening in my life, I feel as if I am on a continuous merry-go-round. I'm standing in the center of the merry-go-round, watching my life go around me. Meanwhile, simultaneously in opposition, I feel another source against me.
